Tempranillo Twang
2021 Paso Robles
Gather ‘round for this foot-stompin’ good time of flavors that’ll keep you warm even after the campfire dies down.
TASTING NOTES
This satisfying, full bodied red wine fills the glass with sweet aromas of vanilla and clove, ripe fig, blackberry, and hints of chocolate. The aromatics of this wine have depth and spice thanks to the 36 months in French oak barrels. The body is structured with leathery tannins giving a smooth, rustic texture. The acidity is soft and integrated, offering just enough brightness to balance the rich, dark fruit flavors.
ABOUT PASO ROBLES
Located in California’s Central Coast, this diverse wine region is renowned for its ability to produce exceptional wines across a wide spectrum of varietals. Its unique terroir, characterized by diverse soil types ranging from sandy loam to clay, coupled with its warm, Mediterranean climate creates ideal conditions for ripening grapes slowly and evenly. This results in wines with concentrated flavors, rich textures, a vibrant acidity, and distinct regional character.
FOOD PAIRING
Pair it with lamb chops seasoned with rosemary—the herbal kick ties into the wine’s spice. Spanish-style chorizo or grilled sausage also works well, while grilled eggplant with a smoky char complements its deeper tones.
